St. George's = State Champions!

St. Georges's football team are now the 2011 State Champions! It was such a a fun trip and a fun game to watch. On Wednesday night, the girls and I drove up together and went to the Cheesecake Factory, while the boys were having football meetings at the hotel. Thursday was game day! SGIS vs USJ. We were all so nervous and excited! The game was exciting and tense right from the very first play! We were up the whole game, but it remained close the whole time. With one minute left in the game, we intercepted the ball, and I knew the game was over! After the game, the girls and I got to go on the field and see the boys! So exciting!! Final score SGIS 28- USJ 23.

I am so proud of my husband and the whole St. George's football staff and players. It was such an exciting road that led us here, and I am so proud of the whole team! It truly was an exciting season, and I am happy that I was able to witness it and be a part of it! GO GRYPHONS!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today is a day to reflect on what we have to be grateful for, and I have so much to be thankful for today. The Lord has blessed both Ben and me in ways we could not have imagined. Even though I had to work today, I am so very thankful to have a job I love and awesome co-workers and friends to share this day with. I am thankful for my loving and supportive husband who loves me unconditionally. I am thankful for my loving family who I am able to share laughter and love with, and I am thankful for a wonderful church family. I am also thankful for the memories that I have of sharing the holidays with my closest friends and family. Love to you all!

Hello Fall!

So... I cannot believe that I have not blogged since September! WOW! Needless to say, things have been pretty hectic for the past few months. I only have about 3 weeks of clinical left this semester and then only 1 more semester to go! Ben has been keeping pretty busy with football as well; in fact, they won their first playoff game last week, so we are heading to Nashville to play DCA this Friday. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I am loving this time of the year right now and cannot wait to start playing Christmas music. But for now, just a few things that I am loving this season.....

1. Loving my steve madden boots.

2. The leaves changing! Unfortunately, it only lasts for a very short time around here.

3. Bundling up on a cool Friday night to watch some football with great friends!

4. Honey crisp apples! Which you can only get around this time of year. DELISH!!!

That's all for now. Will try my very best to continue posting regularly about our happenings! :)

Happenings....

Ben and I have officially started back to school and work. I had about 4 weeks off between my summer term and my fall term, and may I just say that I thoroughly enjoyed them.
As much as I dont want to start back to school and clinicals, it just means that I am one step closer to graduation= MAY 2012! I cannot believe it is almost here, even though at times it feels so far away! I am also loving the cooler weather that we are having here lately. I hope it is here to stay. As much as I love summertime, I think I love fall even more! Football is here and Starbucks pumpkin spice latte is back tomorrow! What could be better?!?

{I may just have to take a little study break tomorrow for one of these!}

On another note, we had a very restful and relaxing Labor day weekend at home this past weekend. On Friday, I went up to St. George's first home game! And we beat JCS 12-0 :) So we are now 2-1. Saturday I did a little homework, shopping and football watching, and then Ben and I went to one of our favorite restaurants= Jim's Place Grille! It was so yummy and we had a great time together. Sunday, we went to church and then relaxed some more at the house before heading to Soulfish Cafe for dinner. Very fun weekend with my groom! Happy Labor Day Everyone!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!

Today, Ben and I are celebrating 2 years of marriage today! We both feel so blessed, and we cannot believe that it has already been 2 years! Ben planned the best surprise for me! He told me to pack my bags for the night and to make sure to pack a dress! So,yesterday afternoon we headed downtown and pulled in at the Peabody hotel. I was so excited! Last night, while I was getting ready for dinner, Ben told me the destination for our dinner plans.....FLIGHT! I was so excited to try this new restaurant down on S. Main Street. It was a very interesting restaurant where you get to have three smaller portions of meals, including salads, soups, desserts, and wines! We had a blast! Once we wrapped dinner up, we headed over to the bar inside the Madison hotel (because a wedding reception was going on at the peabody). We stayed for hours just talking and having some great quality time together. It truly was an awesome night celebrating our special day two years ago!

Paint me a Birmingham.....

Last weekend, Ben and I went to Birmingham to visit Anna in her new place! We had such a great time just hanging out and eating some really great food. Birmingham is such a fun city, and Anna was such a great host!

Can't wait for the next trip :)

Pete Yorn Concert and Happy Easter!

Saturday night, Ben and I went to The New Daisy to see Pete Yorn play with some friends. He was so good! It was a great concert and great time to spend with friends. Saturday night, the Grizzlies played their second playoff game against the Spurs and won, the redbirds were playing, and Pete Yorn was playing downtown. Needless to say it was very busy and crowded, but it made me so excited about summer! :)

Then Sunday was Easter! We had so much fun celebrating our wonderful Savior with both of our families! My sister, Anna, was able to come in town, and it was so good to hang out with her! Here are just a few pictures with the Cox Family :)

Mornings

Getting up at 5:15 am is hard no matter what time you go to bed the night before. Once I get dressed and ready for work, I usually go into the kitchen to make breakfast and lunch for myself. Lately, since daylight savings time, I have been able to hear the birds chirping in the morning. It is one of the best sounds to me! In a way, it comforts me and it is as if God is telling me to take a deep breath and enjoy His Peace! I am so thankful for the chirping birds! :)

We're Moving!

Next year, we will be moving to our new home, St. George's Independent School. Ben and I are very excited about this new adventure and job opportunity. We are sad to leave SBEC, but we feel that this move is what is best for our family. He will be an Asst. Athletic Director and helping coach football and baseball.

The Beach = Best place on earth!

Last week, I went to Perdido Key, Florida with my mom, aunt, sister, and cousin. It was a great girls week! We had the best time relaxing and laughing. And we had the best weather! It was so hard to leave, but I was so very thankful for the trip.

Like I said.... BEST PLACE ON EARTH!

*TRUST*

First of all, I cannot believe it is March 1!!! That makes me so happy :) I am so ready for spring! Life has been pretty busy lately. Ben has been busy with baseball kicking off, and I have been keeping busy with work, school and clinicals. If any of you listen to K-love, you may remember them giving their listeners a challenge to pick a word for the year 2011. Ben and I deliberated and prayed over what word we would choose to be the focus for our year. And the word that we came up with was Trust. With everything going on in our lives right now, it is hard to let go and let God and to trust that He has a perfect plan for us. I know that in my own life, I am so quick to pick up everything that I have given to the Lord and then try to "fix it" or control it myself. In every obstacle or uncertainty, I am learning to trust God with my life. I am a work in progress :)

Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."

Philippians 4:6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
